Qorsho Hassan is an educator, researcher and community organizer. She has served as a classroom teacher for 10 years and in 2020, was named the Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Qorsho is the artist and co-author behind the exhibit and book “Urur Dhex-Dhexaad Ah: Community In-Between,” which presents color portraits, first-person video stories, and written narratives of Somalis living in Columbus, Ohio. She is a strong advocate for educational equity and amplifying student voice and agency. Qorsho serves on the board of 826 MSP, a creative writing and tutoring nonprofit in the Twin Cities. She has been collaborating with Thrive Ed since 2020.
